In Mexica cosmology, the body is not a mere vessel for the spirit — it is the crystallization of the spirit. The body carries memory: it remembers the past and senses what lies ahead. Like the sun that falls into darkness only to rise again the next day, the wisdom of the body is not limited to a single lifetime. It is carried by each generation that follows the last and gives way to the next.
