Immigrant Rights
Immigrant rights are a litmus test for the health of our democracy.
The principles of due process, equal protection, and constitutional liberty are meant to apply to all people. If these principles are selectively applied based on citizenship or residency status, then they could also be selectively applied based on other identifiers such as race, religion, or gender.
Protecting immigrant rights therefore protects the rule of law itself.
